Just on of the four big stripies Andy took on the day.
First trip to fishery big quartet of specimen perch for Andy Kinder.
Top match angler Andy Kinder had a session to remember recently when he targeted the perch of a Midlands commercial venue with a growing reputation for producing big stripies.
The Maver-backed ace made the trip to Woodside Fishery near Bewdley after seeing reports of a number of chunky perch having been caught in competitions up to a staggering 5lb 4oz.
Having been pointed in the right direction by the fishery staff, Andy searched for the fish from peg 12 of the venue’s Island Pool. And fishing chopped worm and caster short, it wasn’t long before the Stillwater predators found the bait.
Over the following few hours the former ‘Match This’ finalist netted four perch between 2lb and 3lb that all fell for lobworm tails – a session that any specimen hunter would be proud of.
"I can't believe the amount of quality perch here at Woodside,” said Andy. “I also caught a further eight fish between 1lb and 1lb 8oz as well," Said Andy. "It's a lovely set-up here at the fishery. I will definitely be back in the summer when the weather has warmed up".
