The Angling Trust has announced the Sensas U18 and Drennan U23 Team England squads to compete on the Smederevo Canal in Serbia at the World Championship in August 2015.
The U23 team is: Rory Jones, Sam Hughes, Matt Barnett, Alex Clements and Tom Hobbs. Rory, Sam and Alex retain their places from last year and are joined by Tom from Oxford and Matt from Hampshire, who steps up from the U18s.
Mark Downes commented: “We have a good squad this year, despite losing three of our team from last year. Hopefully the fishing in Serbia will be a big improvement on last year’s venue in Holland, which in turn will bring the best out in our team. Congratulations to Tom, who did extremely well in both sessions, and Matt who has already had plenty of experience at U18 level.”
Steve Sanders has announced his line-up of anglers to compete in the U18 World Championship as Bradley Gibbons, George Organ, Jake McNeill, Joshua Smith Trow and Kristian Jones. England will be looking to go one better in Serbia and bring back the gold, following their silver medal in the Netherlands in 2014.
The Angling Trust wishes the youth teams the very best of luck and also thank the sponsors, Drennan and Sensas, for their continued support.
