Treble Glory!

Shipp & Wakelin win third Pole Fishing Pairs round.

Des Shipp and Adam Wakelin made history last weekend, after winning a third round of the Preston Innovations Pole Fishing Pairs.

The duo – who also took victory in the rounds at Messingham Sands and Barston Lakes &  Packington Somers, picked up almost £800 for their victory – taking their combined winnings to over £3,000 from the four matches so far.

Once again, Preston Innovations ace Adam Wakelin lead from the front –winning the match outright from a fancied end peg 56 at Maver Larford Lakes. Adam caught quality skimmers on bloodworm tactics for a final weight of 66-3-0.

His partner, Des Shipp also couldn’t have done much better from his draw – winning Woodland View with 29-4-0 from peg 38 on Arles pool.

This gave the pair a perfect two point score, and an unbeatable weight of 95-7-0. Runners up on the day were Lee Kerry and Rob Wootton, who also finished with a perfect two point score, but with an inferior weight of 85-0-0.

In the league stakes, this now cements Des & Adam’s place at the top of the table with nine points. Will Raison and Callum Dicks are currently next best with 11 points.
