The popular Woodlands Lakes complex at Thirsk in North Yorkshire is running junior events throughout the school breaks.
Craig Kent from Woodlands Tackle is running the matches, and told Pole Fishing: “When I was growing up there were no-end of junior events to fish during the summer holidays, but there doesn’t seem to be any of these now. I’m keen to give the youngsters something to fish during these times, with the opportunity to win some great prizes along the way. The matches will be really friendly, and everyone who enters is garunteed to go home with a good prize! We’ll be running the next match on the 8th of April, and continue them throughout the six weeks school holidays.”
The next event is taking place on Thursday the 8th of April.
There is a trophy for the winner of each event, and some fantastic prizes to be giver away such as top-notch rods, reels and some superb bait prizes.
The draw will take place at 10am in the tackle shop, and fishing times are from 11am until 4pm. Quality bait is available from the shop on arrival, and hot and cold food and drinks are available from the on-site cafe.
To book-on or for any questions about the matches, contact Craig on 01845 526110, or check out the Woodland Tackle & Lakes Thirsk Facebook page.
The event is open to anyone 18 years of age or under, and the matches cost £15 to enter.
