After 18 months in charge, Alex Bones has decided to step down as Pole Fishing’s editor. As a result, the magazine’s publisher, David Hall Publishing, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jake Fowles to the editor’s chair.
Having worked on both Pole Fishing and Match Fishing magazines as assistant editor over the past 18 months, 25-year-old young gun Jake is eager to take over the reins.
“I wish Alex all the best in his new venture, and am thankful for the opportunity that has been presented to me. I have big plans in place to move the title on to better things,” commented the keen match angler, who starts in the role with immediate effect, the position becoming permanent at the end of November.
“Although I am pretty fresh on the scene in regards to the 18 months I have worked on the magazines, I have always been in and around the fishing scene and knew it was the route I wanted to head down ever since working in my local tackle shop in my school days… that is, if my career as a professional footballer never took off!
“We have plenty of exciting new feature ideas in the pipeline and have lined up some top anglers for regular features. I aim to make Pole Fishing a must-read for pole anglers.
“As a matchman myself there will obviously be plenty of tips and tactics for competition anglers, but I won’t be ignoring pleasure anglers who like to use the pole to catch their fish whenever and wherever they go fishing.
“These are exciting times for Pole Fishing magazine and I’m very pleased to be a part of its future.”
